Kerið Volcanic Crater Lake is a unique geological feature located in Iceland, about 45 minutes drive from the capital city of Reykjavik. It is a volcanic crater that is approximately 3,000 years old and is part of a larger volcanic zone in South Iceland called the Tjarnarhólar crater group.
The crater is approximately 170 meters wide, 270 meters long, and 55 meters deep, with a vivid blue-green lake at the bottom. The water in the lake is mineral-rich, and the depth of the lake can vary between 7-14 meters depending on the season and rainfall. The walls of the crater are steep and lined with red volcanic rocks, making it a stunning and unique sight to behold.
