Sólheimajökull Glacier is a spectacular glacier located in the southern part of Iceland. It is part of the Mýrdalsjökull ice cap, which covers an area of over 580 square miles (1500 square kilometers). The glacier is approximately 8 miles (13 kilometers) long and 1.2 miles (2 kilometers) wide.
What makes Sólheimajökull Glacier unique and a popular destination for tourists is its mesmerizing blue ice formations, which are a result of the compressed ice crystals reflecting blue light. The glacier is also known for its dramatic landscapes, with deep crevasses, rugged ice ridges, and steep ice walls.
