Terms & Conditions

By accessing, browsing, using, and/or completing a reservation through our website (mobile and desktop), you acknowledge and agree to have read, understood, and agreed to the terms and conditions set out below.

Please ensure that you provide all necessary details upon booking your tour(s). You are responsible for carefully checking all details on your confirmation and related travel documents to ensure that they are correct. In the event of discrepancies, such as booking mistakes where the wrong date or incorrect number of participants was booked, please contact Family and friends immediately. It may not be possible to make amendments to your reservation as your departure date approaches. Family and friends is not responsible for mistakes made in the booking process but we will try our best to accommodate your needs.

Familyandfriends reserves the right to alter itineraries and/or timetables should it be necessary due to adverse weather or other conditions (including force majeure). Family and friends are not responsible for expenses and/or costs due to factors outside of its control, such as flight delays, changes or cancellations, injuries, weather, war, economic effects, natural disasters, pandemics, etc. You are responsible for providing Family and friends with correct contact information so we can inform you of any changes to the services booked.

Rates

All prices for services provided by Family and friends are in Icelandic Krona (ISK). Pricing advertised in local currencies is subject to exchange rate fluctuations, and prices in Icelandic Krona take precedence. Familyandfriends is not responsible for currency fluctuations or additional fees (e.g., bank transfer or credit card fees) outside its control.

Family and friends reserves the right to adjust rates due to economic changes, including but not limited to currency fluctuations, inflation, increased supply costs, tax changes, and force majeure. Any price changes due to tax adjustments will apply to all reservations, even if confirmed at previous prices or payments have already been made.

Pick-up and Drop-off Services

Family and friends offer pick-up and drop-off services for its tours. You are responsible for providing the correct pick-up location and being ready at the assigned time. Missing the pick-up does not entitle you to a refund. However, if possible, we will try to reschedule your tour, subject to availability.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance before traveling, covering cancellations or unforeseen events. It is your responsibility to ensure your insurance policy covers all eventualities, including force majeure and flight disruptions.

Icelandic Weather and Conditions

All adventure trips and outdoor activities depend on weather and conditions. Familyandfriends may change itineraries or cancel tours if necessary for safety. Refunds will be provided for tours canceled by Family and friends due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Clothing

Appropriate footwear and clothing must be worn. Family and friends reserves the right to refuse participation to clients dressed inappropriately, putting their safety at risk. Refunds will not be provided in such cases.

Assumed Risk and Outdoor Activities

All activities are undertaken at your own risk. You must behave in accordance with our or our partners’ guidelines. Outdoor activities carry inherent risks, and Family and friends is not responsible for accidents unless due to negligence. You may be asked to sign a liability waiver or medical disclosure form.

Alcohol and Drugs

Participation may be refused if a client is believed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In such cases, no refund will be given.

Reviews and Feedback

Family and friends welcome all feedback to improve our services. We appreciate sharing your tour experiences with us.

Liability

Family and friends are not responsible for losses or expenses due to delays, flight changes, injury, negligence, weather, or other unforeseeable causes (force majeure). Tour times may vary due to road or weather conditions, and delays may occur. Family and friends are not responsible for losses due to delays.

Refund Policy

Cancellations should be made by email with as much notice as possible. Cancellation fees are as follows:

• A full refund minus 10% for cancellations made at least 48 hours before departure.
• No refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of departure.

Privacy Policy

All personal information will be treated as confidential and will not be sold to third parties. We may offer products or services from trusted Icelandic tourism partners, who have their own privacy policies. Family and friends is not responsible for the privacy practices of these third party sites.

Email Marketing and Communication

Family and friends may send emails related to your booking, including incomplete booking reminders or promotions. You consent to receiving these communications when booking with us. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time, but transactional emails (like booking confirmations) will still be sent.

Laws and Legal Venues

This agreement is governed by Icelandic law. Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be brought before the Reykjavík District Court.
